Let the planning begin!

Summer’s here and it’s too hot to be out in the sun. Sounds like a perfect time to stay inside, grab a cold beverage and start organizing WordCamp Las Vegas 2012!

This is our 4th year in a row hosting WordCamp in Las Vegas and so far they’ve gotten better every year. We’re excited about the amazing venue we’ve lined up (more on that soon) and we’re going to have unparalleled WIFI access. But there’s still so much more to get sorted out. It’s going to be a busy summer!

Tickets
Tickets for WordCamp will go on sale in a few weeks. We’re going to have space for about 200 bodies, and if last year’s ticket sales are any indication, you’ll want to get your tickets nice and early as we will definitely sell out. If you want to be one of the first to be informed when tickets go on sale, subscribe to the blog on the sidebar or follow us on Twitter; @lvwordcamp

Speakers
We will be opening up speaker submissions pretty soon. If you have a topic you’d like to speak on, we encourage you to submit it.

Sponsors
To put on a successful WordCamp takes a lot of work by a small group of volunteers… and donations. For the most part, we’re looking for cash donations to pay for the venue, insurance, t-shirts and things of that nature. But we’re also looking for in-kind donations for things like lunch, snacks, etc. We’ll be posting more information about sponsor packages shortly.

Volunteers
Not interested in speaking or sponsoring but still interested in helping out? We’ve got a spot for you, too. Drop us a note on the contact page.

Mark your calendars!
WordCamp Las Vegas 2012 is set to take place on Saturday, October 6th. It’ll be an all day event and we’ll most likely have some sort of informal dev day on Sunday. Looking forward to seeing you there!

There’s plenty more information coming soon so stay tuned and stay cool.
